Doug Dean Indoor Wall Project

With the loss of our indoor climbing wall premises in early 2019, the WVCC has been working to design and construct a new wall in Ballarat.

To date, generous support has been provided by Currie Engineering, YMCA and City of Ballarat.

Financial donations towards the development of the wall can be made here, or by simply clicking below.

If you feel you can offer support to the WVCC in other ways, please contact us directly - we'd love to hear from you!

Keep up to date with our project progress below.

July 2020 Update

The last few months have been busy investigating insurance coverage options.  But a good opportunity to also review our risk management and operating procedures.  A big thanks to Greg Shallard at Affinity Insurance Brokers for all his assistance to date.

November 2020 Update

We have a set of certified plans for the wall!  A big shout out to Garrett Liston at Westvic Civil Structural Engineering for all his work and patience.  Give Garrett a call if you need some structural modelling numbers crunched.

December 2020 Update

Final design drawings are approaching completion.  A massive thank you to Mitch Currie at Currie Engineering for his ongoing work in pulling together the complex drawings for the new wall.

We've also just received the great news that the WVCC has received a grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria to assist in the purchase of climbing hardware for the wall.  Thanks Sport and Recreation Victoria!
